Diplomats Without Borders

Diplomats Without Borders (DWB) was established in 2022 as an impartial, independent resource for diplomacy worldwide. DWB brings together a diverse pool of seasoned former diplomats, supported by relevant experts, to offer conflict prevention/resolution, advice and training on a pro bono basis to governments, civil society, the private sector and educational institutions around the globe. You can read more about our vision, mission, and priority focus in our Bellagio Declaration of 3 June 2022, and below.

Countries of Origin

Our members have over 2500 years of collective experience in diplomacy, conflict resolution, peace-building, negotiations, capacity building and security across a broad range of topics in over 110 different countries.

The years and geographical range add up to an impressive network of experience and connections - further fostered through creating new connections at DWB - that means we have members from most areas and at numerous multilateral organisations across the globe. From the African Union (AU) to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Latin America, Middle East and North Africa, to Southern and Southeast Asia - we aim to listen to and provide voices from all over the world.

Vision
A peaceful, stable and more just world, where conflicts are resolved through diplomacy and all actors are equally equipped to negotiate and implement their commitments.

Mission
To provide the services of experienced and impartial former diplomats, supported by relevant experts, to strengthen conflict prevention and resolution capacities, to offer advice and training, and to provide a platform for dialogue worldwide.

DWB Board

Spearheaded by DWB founder Kees Rade, the board represents the diversity of the members - seven different nationalities from across five continents.
